Where Did Keyword Discovery Go?

They’ve been down all day for me. Am I the only one who can’t connect, or are they really out of service?

SEO Rockstars Talk About MyBlogLog

So, to my surprise my blog was mentioned yesterday during the SEO Rockstars show on WMR. What a hoot! The guys spoke at length about MyBlogLog and the ins and outs of spamming and jamming it (BTW-I actually know what that means).

It will be interesting to see any changes if any that are made to MyBlogLog over the next few months. They will have their hands full trying to figure out how to keep it real and stop the flow of spam seeing as how so many users are SEO’s or somehow involved in that community.

I agree with Oilman that I don’t know if I like my footprint left everywhere I go. For example this morning, there was an avatar on my screen that had these big boobs in a lacy top. The name underneath implied that this was an SEO person. I didn’t want to click on it. Fear of the unknown. I thought it was a trick I guess or some ploy to get me to join another community. Regardless, I did not want to leave my footprint there.

Now I’ve Seen Everything

I came across www.winmysoul.com today after hearing about it on the morning news. I was intrigued to say the least to find out more about someone “selling their soul”. Not to the devil, but to the highest bidder.

So basically, here’s a guy that has had a rash of tough breaks happen to him over the years. He sinks into depression, and then finds a light and moves forward with a new dream. He is selling his soul online.

The winner will receive:
A percentage of his taxable income for the rest of his life-The guy even shows you a copy of his W-2.
The right to name all of his children. Of course the names must be appropriate.
A percentage of profit ownership in any intellectual works that he creates. ( Now mind you, he lists a former company that he started from scratch. I went to check this out and it is really a great idea, so the guy is innovative.)
The option of planning his wedding and selecting the date.
Winner will be selected on 7/7/2007.

This could open up a whole can of worms here amongst various groups I’m sure. Regardless of the controversy of the topic, the guy had been offered a movie deal.

So here’s to show that with some drive, commitment and creativity you can accomplish whatever you set out for. He wanted to change his life and that he did.

I did not bid on his soul. Just too creepy to think that I would own someone’s soul, but after reading his website, I kinda liked the kid and thought maybe someone else might want to own it? Maybe there’s a future wife out there for him that would be interested in bidding. Although in the end, I guess she’d get all the above stuff anyway right?

How Did This Happen?

I laugh at myself at times when I think of the fact that I started blogging. My SEOH used to come home and say…Honey, you’d never believe what happened today! Yada yada, google this, algorithm that. Spiders and robots and crawlers! As much as I wanted to, I didn’t understand any of it.

I still don’t understand most of it, but I think I’ve made some progress. I’ve had 3 comments on this blog and a few members in my community so I think I’ve shown some improvement right? I mean at least now when people ask me what my husband does for a living, I can actually explain it to them. Even though, they don’t understand any of it. It’s easier to let them keep thinking he builds websites.

Using Google’s Brand to Spam & Jam

During yesterday’s Rockstar show, we spent some time talking about the latest domains on the web being used for some good old fashion parasite SEO. A brand new domain on our monitoring list was http://www.quizilla.com
