I woke up this morning to a nice Stumble Upon surprise.  It looks like you can now friend over 200 people on Stumble.  The only thing is that after you add friends it seems to be taking a while for you friends list to update (if it ever does) and same with the toolbar.

Here’s some of the new changes I stumbled upon this morning.

After opening my inbox I discovered this message:

This is new and I like it because it gives you an indication that someone has friended you where as in the past, the only way you’d know is if you knew what the fan number was on a daily basis.

So after accepting the friend request nothing different happened, other than I was curious and started adding people to see if it would let me…and it did.

This is what you see now to add friends.

SU is also telling you if you have similar interests

So apparently there is a limit with how many friends you can add at any given time.  I got this message after about 15  or so.

They have also changed the name of fans to subscribers and like I said before, the page with your fans subscribers is not updating right away so I have no idea who I added this morning.  At least I know they’ll get a message from me though.

Lastly…avatars now come with  the online indicator next to them.  Not too sure if I care about that, but I guess it’s nice to know if someone is online at a glance instead of having to look at their page.

I have not found an official announcement and did not find anything on the SU website stating this, but I do know that I’ve been maxed out on friends for a long while and was able to add more this morning.  I hope they leave it like this.  Who needs Ebay anyway? :P

Unrelated but I noticed last night that eBay may be selling SU. Wonder if that will change things.

You reminded me to get active again, sending friend request. :)

Oh, this will change SU for sure. Not sure how good it will be, really. I mean, how many pages can u stumble in a day? Also, TechCrunch is reporting Ebay selling SU so rumor is probably true. SU needs to upgrade otherwise, I think something else will take its place. But I do love SU community: so many great sites esp. for art, graphics & photography which need tagging search. Peace!

I noticed this in SU today. I am so new to SU that I have no idea what I am doing. I just stumble things that are interesting to me.

I was surprised at the changes too. Now I can befriend more people, which is nice.

I hope StumbleUpon continues to grow.

I’m still on the fence on a few of the changes. I do like the comparison graph, that’s pretty cool.. but now my StumbleUpon message box is quickly becoming cluttered with friend requests. I see pro’s & con’s in this… I’m sure overtime it’ll grow on me more.

Is it good to have more friends? or just more subscribers?

Curious how the changes effect your personal brand/status on the site

tweet the answer to me @ZaggedEdge

    thx

@zaggededge The more friends you have the more people you can send stories to through the send to button. The more subscribers you have, the more people that will get your pages randomly when they hit the stumble button.

So the answer is up to you and what you want out of SU. :)

Got something to say?
